Council Election results.

During the election I helped my mate's mum who was running for the Greens in Ward 5 in Blacktown. I decided to do the booth by booth percentages for them as I'm interested in statistics and all these things when it comes to elections. If anybody out there has any requests for booth resutls let me know and i'll see I can do. Let's take a look at the highest and lowest vote for each party. Full results here on GoogleDocs

Greens
Highest - 17.5% @ Whalan
Lowest - 8.4% @ Mt Druitt North
(Huge increase on the last election where the vote across the whole ward was about 8%)

Labor
Highest - 67% @ Dharruk (only ones there handing out HTVs for all but 3 hous)
Lowest - 49.3% @ Mt Druitt North

Liberals
Highest - 21.2% @ Plumpton
Lowest - 11.2% @ Hassal Grove

Australia First
Highest - 9.71% @ Bidwill
Lowest - 2.46% @ Plumpton

Gavin Rboinson (Ind)
Highest - 0.96% @ Shalvey
Lowest - 0.25% @ Blackett

Informal votes
Highest - 17.75% @ Lethbridge Park (I checked this 4 times because I've never seen such a high informal vote before)
Lowest - 6.07% @ Plumpton

UPDATE: For some reason during the checking the Greens have lost about 84 votes just at Whalan. the percentages in this post are now wrong. The chart here and the ones in posts above now have the new percentages.

2008 NSW Council Election Results

Since the NSWEc results website is crap I've decided to make a spreadsheet with the elected candidates by council so everybody can get the results easier. To get them from the NSWEC website you need to download a PDF, why the can't just put an "elected" there with the first preference results is beyond me. The razor gangs plan to stop the Carers Bonus payment

I sent PM Rudd an email about this whole thing. Here it is below.

Dear Kevin07,

I am writing to you today about the plan to discontinue the $1000 and $600 bonus payments to carers. If you do this they will lose a lot of votes, not just from carers but from people who actually care about what happens to other people whether it affects them or not. I eas basically forced into being a carer for my father when my sister and brother both said they were too busy to do it. I went from earning about $500 a week when I was working to $500 a fortnight on the Carer's Pension. This $1600 I got last year was the only thing I had to look forward to all year and really helped out with some bills. Getting so little money on the Carer's Pension I basically can't afford to have a social life so when this bonus payment is made I pay the bills and treat myself to a night out.

It would cost you more money if all the carers stopped caring and you had to pay for full-time nurses for all the disabled people. This would be an absolute disgrace and make so many people mad that you might just become the first one-term government we've had in many years. I'm a Labor supporter (though you what are you doing isn't very Labor) but I'm afraid if this happens myself and many others would not vote Labor just out of spite.

Well it may have worked for the 7th most stylish person in Australia but I don't think it will work for Mr "I've never voted liberal party in my life" THe number 7 hates Nelson. Nelson's 7% preferred PM rate is the lowest ever. If he's still the Liberal Party leader come next election I'll cartwheel through George St naked. If not you all owe me $10. By the way, the same pol that had Nelson at 7% has the 2 party preferred at 63-37.
